MilBlogging

The BBC has a great article up entitled Blogs offer taste of war in Iraq that looks at MilBlogging and the war. I recommend MilBlogs to everybody: relatives, conservatives, liberals, students, professors, coworkers, etc. They certainly provide a means of learning about the situation from the eyes on the ground without being filtered through a media outlet.

MilBlogs are a perfect supplement to any sort of macro media coverage and help remind us exactly who’s fighting this war and why they choose to do so. I can’t express the respect I have for everyone in Iraq…I’m thankful for the words and thoughts they share.

Here’s one of the best lines in the article:

Greyhawk advises fellow milbloggers to think how a post will be received by his or her mother, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Osama bin Laden.

Blogs mentioned include: BlackFive, Mudville Gazette, The Military Outpost, Sgt Hook, The Daily Brief, Howdy & Hurl, Just Another Soldier, My War: Killing Time in Iraq, and A Soldier’s Perspective. I read about half of them on a daily basis…you should, too.

  1. Antibush Says:

Bush is forever saying that democracies do not invade other countries and start wars. Well, he did just that. He invaded Iraq, started a war, and killed people. What do you think? Is killing thousands of innocent civilians okay when you are doing a little government makeover?
If ever there was ever a time in our nation’s history that called for a change, this is it!
The more people that the government puts in jails, the safer we are told to think we are. The real terrorists are wherever they are, but they aren’t living in a country with bars on the windows. We are.
